About Blu

Caitlin “Blu” Clark is a Seattle-based licensed cosmetologist and multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersection of hair, culture, identity, and self-expression.

After completing her cosmetology training at Seattle Vocational Institute, Caitlin began her career in Seattle salons before founding Keeper of the Crowns in 2018. Her approach to hair extends beyond technique—drawing on shape, texture, movement, and storytelling to treat hair as both a wearable art form and a deeply personal medium.

Her work has appeared in PhotoVogue and has expanded beyond the salon into fashion, photography, exhibition, live hair artistry, and community-based creative work. Across each setting, Caitlin brings the same philosophy: honoring the cultural significance of textured hair while leaving room for experimentation, individuality, and play.

She lives and creates in Seattle, Washington.
